Default Ui?

Hello, I come from World of Warcraft.(save your boos and hisses =p) In WoW there was alot of UI Mods, like adding more action bars, etc. I noticed that Guild Wars only has 8 action buttons, and I was wondering if UI mods would come out to increase the amount of action bars ingame?

Thanks,
Martyrdom

Nope, since you're only allowed to have 8 active skills. The purpose is to experiment with different combinations.

the UI in GW is not moddable. that is to say, the interface information is stored server side. you can alter the interface by changing sizes, moving bars, turning off windows, etc., but there is nothing like WoW where you can write a script for it.

I am not sure what you mean by "action bars" But In GW You can only run with 8 skills at a time That way the game lets nwer players have a chance ot beat older plavers in PVP and it is based on skill not playing time.

The skill bar in GW isn't there for convience, its used to determine the skills you are allowed to use in any PvP/GvG/Mission/Explorable area. Part of the strategy in GW is determining which skills you will take, so changing that would have a huge impact on the game.

That's possible. You can scale just about any UI window/icon to whatever size you want. You can even turn them off completely if you want. Its done by going into the Menu button found by default on the lower left of the screen, then choosing Customize. From there, you can change the UI to suit your needs.

Lol... I can save my hisses and boos. World of Warcraft players are pissed off enough at Blizzard without us having to rub it in anyway... But I will... Wow sucks... GW rules!

Okay... Now...

You can only use 8 skills at a time. That is a very very basic part of the game. That cannot change... Ever. The 8 skills you put on your bar are known as a "Build" and are an essential part of the game. How will you design your build to be effective when you can only use 8 from your 150 accessable skills?! Well... That's the strategic part (that and teamwork).

As for other UI changes, yes you can do many things with the GW UI. There is a customization option that lets you rearrange everything on your screen, resize it, or make it disappear entirely. I personally don't change it much except for puting my EXP bar at the top right rather than the middle left.

There are still plenty of UI add-on that would work with GW if allowable like a numerical regen so you have an output you cna immediately know how much you are regen' or degn'. Adding a clock and an estimate to how long it will take before you reach your next level/skill point. Those are just off the top of my head.

They should up the allowable skills to 10.

Who knows; they may up it to 10 in the future... but increasing skill slots changes the whole balance of the game. Take just the effect it would have on timer powers - the more slots you have, the more easily you can fill the gap timer powers intend you to be without their use. For example, let's say you have a fire elementalist with 2 AOE powers on 30 second timers. Add 2 more slots, and you can throw 2 more in to fill the downtime without sacrificing any other powers.
